We would like to invite you to the Mathematical-Physical Colloquium of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Leibniz Universität Hannover:
The colloquium takes place online (in the StudIP course "Mathematisch-Physikalisches Kolloquium" in the BigBlueButton meeting "Kolloquium"). Please log into StudIP, register for this course (maybe use this link again after login) and use the tab "Meetings" to enter the BigBlueButton meeting "Kolloquium".

Tautological bundles on symmetric products of curves and embeddings of moduli spaces
Abstract: To every smooth complex curve C, one can associate its n-fold symmetric product, which is an n-dimensional complex manifold. In addition, given a vector bundle E over C, there is an associated bundle E^{[n]} over the symmetric product, called tautological bundle. The tautological bundle captures many important properties of the original bundle. In this talk, we provide a numerical criterion for stability of these tautological bundles. Furthermore, in the cases where the numerical criterion is met, we see that sending E to E^{[n]} gives an embedding of the moduli space of stable bundles on C into a moduli space of stable bundles on the symmetric product.
